Purpose

The Capital District Caribbean Cultural Alliance, Inc., otherwise known as The ALLIANCE, is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization located in Schenectady, NY dedicated to enhancing the lives of members of the ethnic communities in the Capital Region through various programs such as: career/jobs information; job skills training; tutoring & mentoring; Immigration information; Disaster relief for members’ affected countries; Steel Band Music Programs in Capital region Schools; Scholarship for High School Seniors’ entering University,  and organizing and promoting “CARAMA” (an annual multi-cultural Caribbean style festival in the Capital District) as well as other cultural events throughout the year.

The purpose of CARAMA is to bring the Caribbean community together, to promote African and Caribbean culture in the area and to bring the diverse communities of the Capital together through Music, dance/visual art, international foods and comradeship.
